By clue 3, Mr. Burns rode the donkey that finished 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, as did Miss Epstein (8) and Mrs. Cuomo (12), so they are the 1st-3rd place finishers in some order. If Mr. Burns had ridden his mount to 2nd place, then if Miss Epstein had won, Mr. Burns would have been on Banzai Billy (8)--no (14); and if Mrs. Cuomo had won, Mr. Burns would have had the Osgood child as his rider (12)--again, no (7). So, Mr. Burns didn't finish 2nd. If Mr. Burns had ridden his donkey to 3rd place, if Miss Epstein had placed 2nd, Mr. Burns would have ridden Banzai Billy (8), which he didn't (14); and if Mrs. Cuomo had placed 2nd, Mr. Burns' saddlemate would have been the Osgood child, again no (7). Therefore, Mr. Burns rode his donkey to victory in the Derby, with the English teacher finishing 2nd (3). If Mrs. Cuomo had finished 2nd and Miss Epstein 3rd, by clue 8, Banzai Billy would have been the 4th place donkey and Jennifer would have been the student on the 5th place animal. Since Miss Epstein didn't ride Tut (13), Jennifer would have (3). By clue 12, the Osgood child would have been 3rd with Miss Epstein; and, since Jennifer did not ride with the math teacher (1), the math teacher would have ridden Banzai Billy. By clue 11, then, Mr. Burns would have ridden Lulu, and Mrs. Cuomo's rider would have been the Munoz child, contradicting clue 15. So, Miss Epstein rode the 2nd and Mrs. Cuomo the 3rd place donkeys. The Osgood child was on the 4th place and the math teacher on the 5th place donkey (12). By clue 8, Mrs. Cuomo rode Banzai Billy; and, since Jennifer didn't ride with the math teacher (1), Jennifer is the Osgood child. Since the math teacher didn't ride Tut (1), Jennifer was the passenger on Tut (3). By clue 5, Greg rode with Mr. Burns, and Miss Epstein drew Sweetie in the Derby. Mr. Burns rode Lulu and the Munoz child with Miss Epstein (11). By elimination, Randy Rocket was the 5th-place finisher. Mr. Aguilera rode Tut (4), and Mrs. Desantis rode Randy Rocket. By clue 10, Mr. Burns teaches social studies, the Petrovich child rode with Mrs. Cuomo, and Heather rode with Mrs. Desantis. The Lassiter child is Greg (6), and Heather's surname is Newman. Ian is the Munoz child (2) and Felicity Petrovich. Mr. Aguilera teaches phys. ed. (9), and Mrs. Cuomo teaches art. In sum, the Donkey Derby results were

• 1st: Lulu -- Mr. Burns, social studies, and Greg Lassiter
• 2nd: Sweetie -- Miss Epstein, English, and Ian Munoz
• 3rd: Banzai Billy -- Mrs. Cuomo, art, and Felicity Petrovich

• 5th: Randy Rocket -- Mrs. Desantis, math, and Heather Newman
