Logic Problem Solution:
Pairs Skaters
By clue 3, the couple from the Capades Ice Club placed just ahead of Miss Salchow
and her partner. Miss Salchow's partner isn't Paul (5), and Peggy isn't the
Capades Ice Club member (7). By clue 7, then, where Paul and his partner
placed one position higher than Peggy and her partner, Paul must be the Capades
skater and Peggy Miss Salchow in clue 3. By clue 1, then, Paul's partner must
be Miss Axel, and Rudy is Peggy Salchow's partner. By clue 4, Mr. Lutz and his
partner placed just ahead of the pair from the Follies Ice Club. Since Rudy
isn't a Follies skater (1), Paul isn't Mr. Lutz. Rudy must be Mr. Lutz, and
the Follies Ice Club pairs skaters then finished 3rd (4). Rudy and Peggy, who
won the silver medal, then skate for the Spinners Ice Club. Paul and Miss
Axel are gold medalists. Todd is in the 3rd place pair. Paul then is Mr.
Arena, and his partner is Dorothy (6). Todd skates with Tanya. Todd's
surname is Blades and Tanya's is Zamboni (2). The three medal-winning pairs
are
- Gold - Dorothy Axel & Paul Arena, Capades Ice Club
- Silver - Peggy Salchow & Rudy Lutz, Spinners Ice Club
- Bronze - Tanya Zamboni & Todd Blades, Follies Ice Club
